About Me
I'm Christin Garcia and I am a health and fitness coach, musician and super nerd based in the Denver area. I coach open minded clients looking for a holistic, sustainable and habit-change based approach to their health and fitness goals. I have been on quite an interesting journey with regards to exercise, nutrition, psychology and neurology and I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experience and tools with you to create the change you want.
My Story |
The reason being a health and fitness coach is so important to me is because I know what it’s like to want to feel better, look different, want to achieve goals, want to grow and change as a person. I also know from personal experience that people always make better growth when they are guided and coached by someone other than themselves. I want to be that guide and coach because I believe everyone deserves a good quality of life and sometimes we need a little help to make lasting changes.
Making significant changes requires sacrifice, but the real struggle is creating good habits that help not only achieve goals but maintain them for a lifetime. I have struggled with building everything from simple habits like putting my eating utensil down between every bite to more complex habits such as constantly tracking and adjusting work outs to fit my needs. I struggle with creating good habits like anyone else because sometimes work gets busy, time gets away from me, negative self-talk creeps in, or sometimes I just feel tired and don't want to care. Nevertheless, I persist in creating amazing, lifelong habits that will always prove to move me towards my goals because I truly value good health and becoming the best version of me above all else. I’m also a bit of a nerd so learning and doing new things motivates me to keep progressing. My journey has been an upward trend full of peaks and valleys; I’ve gained weight and lost weight, become very strong then regressed and had to start over due to pain or injury. I’ve had to confront emotional issues, but this is a normal part of life. Overall, I’ve found that getting back up again, dusting myself off and moving forward is what has made my journey successful. I have learned so much from this experience and want to do my best to share my knowledge and help people through their journeys. Thank you for your time and reading my story. Please reach out if there is anything I can help you with. |
Being a Nerd - How It's Shaped My Approach |
So where does being a nerd figure into all this? I try and find fun, nerdy things to learn about and incorporate them into what I'm doing. Luckily, along my journey I found Z-Health, which is essentially a cool way of looking at movement from a neurological perspective. Neurology's a pretty nerdy topic yes? Yes!
The nervous system is ridiculously important and is often overlooked in general fitness programs and facilities. The tools and assessments Z-Health teaches it's practitioners allow us to determine the most effective course of action you should take to get better results. This means that when you work with me, you get a VERY individualized program because as we know, humans are all incredibly different. |
